Blackheath Secondary School opens its doors in Dennemere, Cape Town, under the leadership of founding principal Mr HP Hickley.
School achieves recognition as a thriving community institution with growing enrolment across all grades 8–12.
Classified as a Section 21 school, gaining greater autonomy in financial management, maintenance, and procurement.
Enrolment reaches 952 learners supported by 29 dedicated educators — a testament to the school's strong community standing.
Successful transition to full CAPS curriculum implementation across all grades with enhanced technology facilities.
